A little bit about me.
I’ve always been drawn to taking photographs for as long as I can remember. When my 3 boys started school I really felt the desire to take photographs on a more serious level.
A high quantity of my work is taken in London as it’s where I have lived since 2004. I am, however, lucky to spend time in the West Country and North Yorkshire, where I grew up on a farm.
Humour, love, distress, joy, loneliness, fear, happiness, stillness, excitement. Emotions like these and many more are why I love to capture images, I hope with sensitivity. Music has always been my greatest joy and it features strongly in my desire to create stories through images. I feel the same way about a song lyric or a guitar rift as I do about a beautiful thought-provoking image. Sentiment is a huge part of me and my work and I find a combination of the two very powerful.
I try to shoot on days with strong natural light as I believe light and shadow expands our view of the world and how we visually digest our surroundings. I truly hope my images instigate thought and lead my audience to see, as I see, that there is great beauty to be found in the everyday.
