Little Stories from London
A few years ago I was compelled to examine my desire for self expression. I have always been aware of my instinct to visually embrace my surroundings. With my already embedded appreciation and passion for photography, I began to explore London through the lens. I started out photographing architecture, museums and train stations as I was drawn to the structure and the way the light behaved in and around them.
During this process of exploration I uncovered an interest for light, how it shapes our world and how we feel. Frame by frame I discovered that by adding human emotion, geometry, scale and colour, I was setting my style of image making.
The emotional element to my work is just as crucial to me as the visual aspect. It is so important for me to imagine what the subject is feeling, thinking or perhaps there is a comical aspect. I wonder where they have arrived from or where they are going to and what happened along the way. Thus the image lending itself to me to imagine a little story or even just a feeling.
